Day Fire

The rain is here. Finally, thank god (non-dogmatic generic god) for this. It still smells heavily of smoke and ash around here after three or four weeks of massive fire in my backyard. It turned out to be the 5th largest fire in CA’s history, over 160 thousand acres. My nose is stained with the smell of smoke, but the rains today helped to clean it up a bit. What a miserable month it was. September is always, always my worst month of the year, without fail. October and December are tied for my favorites/best months, I’m looking forward to having something good happen soon.

I was on call for the entire month of September, so the Adventure per month is going to be pretty weaksauce. I’m still working on putting it up. For now here are a couple of pictures from the fire to shut you up.

My house and fire

That’s part of my driveway and then my house. The big black cloud in the background is usually not there, just for your information.

The entire month of September my work required me to be within one hour of responding due to the Day Fire.  This was cool, because I made a ton of OT at work but it was uncool because I basically worked all month.
