I've learned something about myself photographically. I like taking pictures of decay, of old things, crumbly old things, decaying signs of humanity and the like. I had an opportunity to go to Big Sur and take some photos of a beautiful area, but instead went to Fort Ord (closed down Army base near Monterey) and took pictures of some of it instead. Most anyone can take a nice picture with a nice view, I like trying to take a nice/interesting picture from something less than beautiful. Now I'd like to figure out why decay as a subject intrigues me so much, and figure out how to make money off of it... :)

Father chasing his son around a baseball field. Taken in San Jose, or Cupertino or something like that, I like the way it turned out, so you all get to see it now. Feedback?

Sure, it's posted elsewhere on the site but I think the technical merit it displays makes it one of my favorite pictures, ever. The DOF seems to be pretty well on the money, the focus seems right and everything seems to work well together in the shot.

Fort Ord, now CSUMB area. This is part of a unit mural on one of the old abandoned squadbays. The Army painted the Think War portion of it, I can only assume some well-intentioned CSUMB student added the X and Peace! monikers.
