A hawk, on top of a streetlight down near the park I usually bike at.  I wish I had backed the zoom out a bit to get the streetlight itself in, or zoomed in closer to cut it out entirely, maybe focusing on it's head and only it's head.

A little tiny waterfall.  I had a 1.5 or 2 second exposure on it so the water blurred out, I have seen that effect on a lot of waterfall pics and I've always liked it.

You'd think this place was a church, right?  It used to be, and may still be in use as a church but actually it's a UC conference room in the middle of nowhere on the 395.  Just an interesting landmark that really stands out.  Unfortunately, the picture is a bit crooked... I need to find a way to prevent that from happening so damn often.

In honor of my new personal hero Mr. Bush who wants to return us to the moon.. and beyond.  Here is our very own moon.  I'd like to get into some astrophotography, somehow hook up the camera to a telescope and go to town.  I don't really know how to photograph the moon, maybe if I could get it to some tricks or something it would look different than the 45,376,156,588,358.7 other pictures people have already taken of it.

After snowstorm in Salt Lake City, Utah.  I liked the tire tracks, the sky and the tree framing it all.  I think if I had used the polarizer the sky would have come out much bluer, and the picture better overall.  Good to know for next time.

I really dig this one.  It's hard to tell what it is, sun or moon and I like that.  If you have an idea what it is, and why please let me know.  I'm going to have to continue working on this overall effect.

Temple square, SLC.  I think the composition itself turned out well, it seems to be balanced, the lighting seems to be accurate and overall it looks pretty good to me.  What do you think?

There was a very slight rainbow around the sun this day that I was trying to get to show up.  I threw on the polarizer for this shot and had it at the lowest 'setting' and it's still barely visible.  I should have underexposed it a bit more I think.
River, under snow.  Think cold thoughts when you look at this one.
I like the long, slender shadows from the dead trees.  It just looks and feels very lonely to me, which is something like what I was trying to capture with this shot.

Here is one I really like the composition of, it's a Joshua tree (do any of you clowns have trees named after you?) with San Jacinto in the background.  If I would have been a bit closer to the tree, so it would stand out more and used a tripod to get in a smaller aperature for more DOF it would have been stellar, maybe a bit earlier in the morning too, or later in the afternoon when the light would be less harsh.

Since I liked it so much I didn't downsize the dimensions/quality as much as I usually do, so if you're on dialup... it may take a bit longer than usual to load, sorry, but I hope you'll agree it's worth it.
